lindane 

Apply 1-2 ounces of shampoo (no more than 2 ounces) to dry hair; leave on for four minutes; lather, rinse, and remove lice with a fine-toothed comb
Usually, a single application is adequate; if necessary, another pediculicide may be used in one week



pyrethrins/piperonyl butoxide 

Indicated for the treatment of body, head, or pubic lice
Apply the shampoo on wet hair over the infected areas, leave the product for 10 minutes, and then wash off with enough warm water
Use a fine comb to expel eggs and lice from the hair
Do not use the shampoo consecutively more than twice daily
Retreat the hair in 7-10 days
Refer to the package insert for the amount of application
