Choline salicylate acts by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzyme. This leads to decreased prostaglandin production reducing inflammation at the application site. It reduces pain, swelling, and redness associated with dental pain, mouth ulcers, and gingivitis. Choline salicylate also has analgesic effects by reducing pain sensation and exerting an antipyretic effect by reducing prostaglandins responsible for fever.Â
