Pharmacology:
When hydrocortisone acetic acid otic is applied to the ear canal, it is absorbed into the skin. It enters the bloodstream and acts systemically to reduce inflammation throughout the body. The acetic acid remains in the ear canal, which acts locally to treat the fungal infection.
Pharmacodynamics:
hydrocortisone is a glucocorticoid that binds to specific glucocorticoid receptors in the body known as receptors. It causes inhibition of the production of various inflammatory mediators, including cytokines and prostaglandins. It reduces inflammation and the associated symptoms, such as redness, swelling, and itching. acetic acid is an antifungal agent that works by inhibiting the growth of fungi and killing the fungi that cause infections in the ear. It does this by breaking down the fungal cell wall and disrupting the metabolic processes of the fungus.
Pharmacokinetics:
hydrocortisone is absorbed from the skin into the bloodstream when applied in the ear. It is then distributed throughout the body. It is then metabolized by the liver and excreted in the urine.
