Iclaprim is a bactericidal antibiotic drug that belongs to the class of drugs known as diaminopyrimidines. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, leading to cell death.
Iclaprim has a broad spectrum of activity, covering a range of gram-positive bacteria including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). It is used to treat skin and skin structure infections, as well as acute bacterial osteomyelitis.
