talniflumate consists of more intense analgesic action than niflumic acid could be attributed to the higher plasma drug concentration during the early period.
Given that talniflumate is less irritant to the gastrointestinal mucosa than niflumic acid, talniflumate appears to be superior to niflumic acid in terms of activity and side effects.

Pharmacology
talniflumate inhibits the core mucin-synthesizing enzyme GCNT3 (core 2 b-1,6 N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase).
In vivo and in vitro study of talniflumate reduces GCNT3 gene expression and mucin synthesis. Talniflumate is a potent CaCC (calcium-activated chloride channel) blocker.
Pharmacodynamics
talniflumate is metabolized to niflumic acid, which has several pharmacodynamic effects.
It prevents mucin synthesis then, talniflumate inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by cyclooxygenases, which aids in the treatment of pain and inflammation.
