Should individuals be more cautious with marijuana use?
- Yes, many are unaware of the risks associated with chronic use
- Maybe those who have a genetic history of mental illness
- No, it’s a much safer choice compared to alcohol and other drugs

Participant::Recent research has amplified the health risks associated with marijuana use, especially if the substance has a high potency. The chance of psychosis is almost 5 times higher in individuals who use high-potency marijuana, in comparison to people who don’t use at all.
Other than the recent concerns with higher chances of addiction with high potency marijuana, marijuana use has always been concerning for individuals with preexisting genetic vulnerability. A certain variation in the AKT1 gene significantly increases the risk of psychosis for daily marijuana users.
While legalization efforts for marijuana were in full force, some channels wrongly marketed it as a non-addictive substance with no harmful side-effects. As is evident, that’s not the case — 1 out of 10 individuals develop a marijuana use disorder with chronic use, and many chronic users report a lower quality of life.
Do you think the general population is aware of this? Or do people still believe that cannabis is a harmless drug with no side-effects?

Many researchers have linked marijuana use to enhance the risk for psychiatric disorders, including psychosis (schizophrenia), depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders, but whether and to what extent it actually causes these conditions is not always easy to determine.

Participant::Marijuana has been linked with alot of psychoatric disoders and addiction of the marijuana and abuse of it causes drug induced psychosis, schizophrenia, and alot of side effects compared to its merits.an individual with probably underlying psychosis that has not erupted is likely 99% going to get psychosis due to excessive use of the marijuana.therefore the drug should not be legalized and should be banned

Participant::Stake holders and state officials in every country should see the use of marijuana as an urgent public health problem. They need to work hand in gloves to track down individuals promoting the use and probably help the pharmaceutical sector to see the use of this plant in the field of health care and medicine. If not, let it be destroyed and eliminated from the earth’s surface coz it is killing societies today.

Participant::Too much of everything is bad.
So one must exercise control and be moderate in everything, as we knew that Marijuana is being used as medicine in every system of medicine either its Homeopathy, Ayurveda Unani or Modern medicine and used to treat mental disorder, pain, urine infection etc, So if Marijuana is used in moderate potency and quantity it can be useful, as it increases imagination, thinking capacity, lighter the mood.
If marijuana is taken in high potency or in more quantity it can cause loss of imagination power, thinking capacity and can make people dull and can cause psychiatric disorder.
So we should start awareness program about Marijuana uses. -

Participant::To great extent, marijuana is beneficial to the human system, so one can not downplay the benefits. But humans who seem never to be satisfied go way overboard by abusing it. Too much of everything is not good, even water when consumed excessively can be detrimental to one’s mental health. So the best thing to do is to sensitize people about the danger of having excessive marijuana in the human system and how best to make use of marijuana if the need arises.
