Is the reversal of Roe v Wade paving the way for unsafe abortions?

  • Yes, this decision will have a global impact leading to increased material morbidity and mortality
  • It’s possible if only through emboldening anti-abortion advocates
  • Unlikely because at least in some circumstances abortion is legal in 95% of Countries worldwide

After the Roe reversal, the United Nations’ sexual and reproductive agency gave a grave reminder to the public, stating that 45% of abortions performed in the world are unsafe.

As reported by npr, the UNFPA statement was as follows:

” Almost all unsafe abortions currently occur in developing countries, and UNFPA fears that more unsafe abortions will occur around the world if access to abortion becomes more restricted. Decisions reversing progress gained have a wider impact on the rights and choices of women and adolescents everywhere.”

We’ve all heard of the horrific stories involving unsafe abortions in low-income countries. Is that what’s going to happen to us now?

Planned Parenthood was founded on bases of eugenics. Margaret Sanger (President of International Planned Parenthood) believed that certain people where unfit to have children. She started “The Negro Project” in 1939 a project that was used as a “we must make calculated effort to reduce the Black population against their will.” -Sanger
(see Planned Parenthood own website about us> history page)

With more than 80+ different types of birth control available today that weren’t able 50 or 100 years ago, Planned Parenthood is a relic of the past that needs to be gotten rid of.

Just where does Virginia think women will get contraception?
Is she suggesting women take prophylactic bc in case they are raped?
      What about tubal pregnancy?
What will a woman with a fetal demise do if she does nor spontaneously abort?
How about all the women and men who use PP for reasons other than termination of pregnancy?
There are so many unintended consequences when politicians make medical decisions.

People should be responsible when having sexual intercourse, preventing unwanted pregnancy. I think we should look outside the box and offer vasectomies also. They can be reversed. Why does contraception have to always be a woman’s responsibility, iud, birth control etc. Insurance companies should consider volunteer sterilization to prevent pregnancy. If this was to happen there would be no abortions needed and innocent children would not suffer the pain of the procedure.
