A new website from the National Institutes of Health has made it less difficult to report positive or negative test results. Through the NIH’s Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx®) Tech program, MakeMyTestCount.org enables consumers to anonymously report the findings of any brand of at-home COVID-19 test.
As the United States heads into the holiday season and people negotiate respiratory illnesses, COVID-19 testing remains a vital tool. While quick COVID-19 testing has become widespread, test results are rarely publicized.
The COVID-19 test results give significant information that public health authorities can utilize to evaluate needs and alter responses at the local, state, and national levels.
There is a well-established technological mechanism for communicating laboratory test findings. RADx Tech has been developing a secure method to standardize test reporting for at-home tests. This technique is used on the MakeMyTestCount.org website to log test results.
Through the RADx Tech program, the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) financed the development of MakeMyTestCount.org.
