• cefonicid should not be used in individuals with a known hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics or any of its components.  

Caution: 

• Patients with impaired renal function may require dose adjustments to prevent the accumulation of the drug. 
• Caution is advised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases. 
• Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizure disorders.
