Contraindications/caution:
Mesalazine is contraindicated for individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergies, salicylate allergies, severe liver dysfunction, severe kidney dysfunction, gastrointestinal obstruction, children and adolescents, and certain age groups.

Lactation: Excretion of the drug in human breast milk is known.
