Put 1 or 2 drops in each dilated eye after completion of the ophthalmic examination

Non-selective alpha-adrenergic antagonist that prevents the smooth muscle of the iris from contracting. Â
Norepinephrine and other catecholamines, which normally bind to these receptors, are inhibited by phentolamine ophthalmic.Â

Why do we use phentolamine ophthalmic?Â
Ryzumvi (phentolamine ophthalmic) represents an ophthalmic formulation that functions as a nonselective alpha-adrenergic antagonist. It is currently in the developmental stages for the purpose of reversing pharmacologically induced mydriasis. After completing an eye examination or procedure, Ryzumvi eye drops are administered into each dilated eye to counteract the dilation of the pupils.
