propofol

Initial dose
0.005mg/kg/min Intravenous for 5 mins
Increase by 5-10mcg/kg/min for 5-10mins
Maintenance Dose
0.005mg/kg/min Intravenous for 5 mins
0.005mg/kg/min increase every 5 min



amisulpride 

Prevention: 5 mg IV over 1-2 minutes at time of anesthesia induction
Treatment: 10 mg IV over 1 to 2 minutes postoperatively



ondansetron 

ondansetron is meant for prophylaxis of nausea and vomiting caused after surgery
4 mg intravenously or intramuscularly right before the anesthesia, or
16 mg orally every hour before induction of anesthesia
Patients with body weight more than 80 kg need an additional 4 mg intravenous dose



ondansetron 

Prophylaxis
Age 0.1-12 years
For<40 kg, 0.1 mg/kg intravenously
For >40 kg, 4 mg intravenously
Age>12 years
4 mg intravenously or intramuscularly right before anesthesia or post the procedure, or
16 mg orally an hour before anesthesia; for patients >80 kg an additional of 4 mg intravenously is preferred



granisetron 

As a prophylactic measure, before the reversal of anesthesia, 1 mg intravenous dose of granisetron is injected for 30 seconds
For the treatment- Undiluted 1 mg intravenously over 30 seconds



palonosetron 

For prophylaxis
0.075 mg intravenous dose of palonosetron is infused for 10 seconds right before the anesthesia



metoclopramide 

(Off-label)
10-20 mg intramuscularly near to the end of the procedure
Repeat the dose every 4-6 hours after surgery as required
Dosing Modifications
In the case of renal impairment, when CrCl is less than 40ml/min, decrease the dose by half
And when CrCl is less than 10ml/min, decrease the dose by three-fourth



metoclopramide 

(Off-label)
0.1-2 mg/kg intravenously every 6-8 hours as required



peppermint oil 

In 2 mL of the isotonic saline solution, administer 0.2 ml



hyoscine butylbromide 

Apply one patch transdermal behind the ear prior to surgery in the evening or an hour before the C-section



 

metoclopramide 

(Off-label)
0.1-2 mg/kg intravenously every 6-8 hours as required
