Alverine works by relaxing smooth muscles. It exerts its effect as an antispasmodic agent. Muscles become less tense and spasms decrease, providing relief.
Pharmacodynamics:
Alverine is a drug that relaxes involuntary muscles. It acts on the smooth muscles in the uterus and stomach. By directly impacting the intestinal muscles, Alverine prevents spasms. These spasms are linked to conditions like diverticular disease and irritable bowel syndrome.

Metabolism
Alverine quickly transforms into its potent form. This compound then shifts into two secondary byproducts. After conversion, the substance undergoes additional changes, giving rise to two distinct metabolites.
Elimination and excretion
Alverine gets removed quickly from the body through the kidneys. Its removal time is brief, around 0.8 hours. However, one of its broken down products lasts longer, around 5.7 hours, before being removed.

Alverine capsules should be taken orally with plenty of water with or without meals
