Do not exceed 60ml/24hrs
2 to 4 chewable tablets once a day (Do not exceed 4 tablets/24hrs)
Children > 12 years:
5 to 15 ml 4 times a day as per need. (NMT 60ml/24hrs)
Chronic: infants: 80 to 240 mg/kg in two divided doses per day.
Occasional:
2 to <6 years: 400 to 1200 mg/day in two divided doses.
6 to <12 years: 1200 to 2400 mg/day in two divided doses.
>12 years: 2400 to 4800 mg/day in two divided doses.
it may inhibit the GI absorption of demeclocycline (provide 2 hours difference between both drugs)
it may inhibit the GI absorption of doxycycline (provide 2 hours difference between both drugs)
It may enhance the levels when combined with sodium polystyrene sulfonate by diminishing renal clearance
It may enhance the effects when combined with vitamin D
it may enhance the risk of side effects when combined with misoprostol
magnesium hydroxide: they may enhance the serum concentration of tacrolimus
decreases the effect or level of pexidartinib by inhibiting gastrointestinal absorption
The presence of magnesium hydroxide reduces moxifloxacin levels by inhibiting its gastrointestinal absorption
The presence of magnesium hydroxide lowers riociguat levels by inhibiting its gastrointestinal absorption
a decrease in the efficacy of ferric pyrophosphate can be seen when administered with magnesium hydroxide
may decrease the effects of the drug by GI absorption inhibition
amiloride elevates magnesium hydroxide levels by decreasing renal clearance
Pregnancy consideration: Magnesium can cross the placenta.Â
Lactation: Magnesium hydroxide can be excreted in breast milk, monitor infants for adverse effects when administered. Â
