Pharmacology: Vindesine binds to tubulin and interferes with polymerization to prevent the formation of the mitotic spindle. It acts between the mitotic phase of the cell cycle.
Pharmacodynamics: Vindesine inhibits the normal process of mitosis in actively dividing cells. Their action is important in rapidly dividing cancer cells, that leads into antineoplastic effect.
Pharmacokinetic:
Absorption:
It has poor oral bioavailability.
Distribution
It distributes throughout the body.
Metabolism
It undergoes hepatic metabolism.
Elimination and excretion
It is excreted through the biliary system and feces.
Administration:
Vindesine is administered through intravenous route.
