cefdinir has the potential to reduce the rate of excretion of idebenone, leading to an elevation in levels of serum
When cefdinir is used together with ouabain, this leads to reduction in cefdinir excretion
cefdinir leads to a reduction in the rate of excretion of eucalyptus oil which leads to increased level of serum

cefdinir might lead to a reduction in the rate of excretion of telavancin, potentially leading to elevated levels of serum
when both drugs are combined, there may be an increased risk of adverse effects
Cephalosporins have a six-member dihydro-thiazine ring, which provides more bactericidal activity than the five-member thiazolidine rings that make up penicillins.
Cefdinir inhibits the formation of cell walls by attaching itself to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which results in bactericidal action.
Penicillin protein binding proteins 2 and 3 have demonstrated affinity for cefdinir.

A bactericidal drug called cefdinir works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell walls.
Cefdinir is effective against a wide range of bacterial infections including gram-positive and gram-negative.
It works well against bacteria that produce the beta-lactamase enzyme. Cefdinir may therefore be vulnerable to a wide range of pathogens that are resistant to other cephalosporins.
It is administered through oral route in form of capsule and suspension.
It is taken with or without food. Shake oral suspension well before each use.
Generic Name: Cefdinir (Rx)
Pronounced: sĕf ′dĭ-nîr′
Why do we use Cefdinir?
Cefdinir is indicated to treat acute bacterial otitis media, community-acquired pneumonia, pharyngitis/tonsillitis.
It is also used in treatment of acute maxillary sinusitis, and skin structure infections.
