Pharmacology Â
Clobazam affects by binding to the GABA-A receptors, which are ligand-gated chloride channels. When GABA binds to its receptor, chloride channels open, leading to an influx of chloride ions into the neuron. Â
PharmacodynamicsÂ
The enhanced activity of GABA leads to hyperpolarization of the neuronal membrane. This hyperpolarization makes it more difficult for the neuron to reach its threshold for firing, reducing the chances of excessive neuronal activity and seizures.Â
