Action and Spectrum:
Beta-2 adrenoceptor agonists initiate adenylate cyclase to produce cyclic AMP (cAMP), in which airway smooth muscle cells leads to relaxation.
These agents relieve bronchospasm and reduce airway resistance and connects with beta-2 adrenergic receptors on smooth muscle of bronchial tissue.
Adverse reaction:
Black box warning:
None
Contraindications/caution:
Pregnancy Warnings:
Pregnancy category: N/A
Lactation: Excretion of the drug into the human breast milk is unknown
Pregnancy categories:
Pharmacology:
Cyclic AMP activates protein kinase A, which inhibits myosin phosphorylation.
Beta-agonists stimulate the beta-2 adrenergic receptor on cell surfaces, causes smooth muscle relaxation.
Pharmacodynamics:
Levosalbutamol relaxes airway muscles, which improves air flow in the lungs. It works as a bronchodilator medicine.
Adrenergic receptors activate bronchodilation via cAMP messenger system.
Administration:
It is administered via inhaler.

Generic Name: Levosalbutamol
Why do we use Levosalbutamol?
Levosalbutamol is used in the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
It is also used in management of bronchospasms and lung inflammation.
