MetabolismÂ
acetaminophen is primarily metabolized in the liver via microsomal enzyme systems. It undergoes conjugation with glucuronic and sulfuric acids to form inactive metabolites. doxylamine undergoes hepatic metabolism through various pathways, including N-demethylation and hydroxylation. dextromethorphan undergoes extensive hepatic metabolism, primarily via cytochrome P450 enzymes, particularly CYP2D6. It is metabolized to dextrorphan, which has additional activity as an NMDA receptor antagonist.Â
Elimination and ExcretionÂ
